We can tell people our greatest goal is to "do" missions or mission work, its what gets us fired up and passionate, we are in the end, selfish people who want other people to see the things that we are doing and think that we are great or cool or cutting edge or missional or whatever. If we started realizing that what we should be doing is seeking Him and His way, His purposes for our lives, and how He wants us to be missional, that things would be a lot better and the mission we are on would be a lot more sucessful. But boy-howdy arent we stubborn, our ways must be better than Gods ways, surely we can see how this will play out better than the God of the universe. Oh how much we have to learn and how much we have to learn to let go of... Ah human nature, look past the wonderful life we have, the blessings that God has poured out on us even though we dont deserve it, and look to the things we dont have, or the things that other people have, and say "come on God, why wont you bless us?" Oh to be content with the knowledge that God has our best interest at heart and that maybe, just maybe, He knows, yes even better than we do, what is best for us. But there is hope, God has a plan, He sees the end, and He knows how all of this pain will bring Him glory. No it makes no sense to us, to sit here and see it happen, "Why do you let this happen? What are you doing?" Common thoughts in my life on a daily basis, but if we understood everything He was doing, we wouldnt need faith, or need Him at all. Its comforting to know that this is just one thread in the t-shirt of life, and there are many more threads yet to be sewn, and that God is the master sewer.
